Frequently asked Emergency Roadside Service Plan Questions
What is Roadside Assistance?
Roadside Assistance is a service provided by towing companies. Most roadside towing companies are mom and pop owned shops that cater to their specific locality. We bring all of these individually owned towing companies together to provide a nationwide network for safe, fast and reliable service. We hand pick each and every tow and lock-out application sent. We research them for complaints and for their professional reputation in the local areas they serve. After careful scrutiny can they become members of our nationwide towing and emergency service network.
Why do you use PayPal to process my payments? Can I pay without a PayPal Account?
We use PayPal because it is the safest way to pay for anything online! You do not need a paypal account to purchase our plans. We just use PayPal to do our credit card processing. When you go through the payment process you will get automatically redirected to the PayPal page, then you can choose to purchase our roadside assistance plan without creating a PayPal Account from the safety of the PayPal Secure Page. The bottom line here is we don't want to store and secure your credit card information on our servers. We don't want to be responsible for a breach of our systems by hackers. When we say your information is private we mean it is private. PayPal offers the most secure payment processing in the world for online transactions. We will never see a single number on your credit card and none of our employees will ever know your credit card information either.
Are there any additional costs per member or vehicle like your competitors roadside assistance programs?
NO! Never! We have 3 plans. Our "Basic" plan is for individuals that only have or want to cover one vehicle with emergency roadside assistance. The "Premium" and "Ultimate" roadside assistance plans cover an UNLIMITED amount of vehicles in your household. What you see is what you get. All of our competitors charge per vehicle or per person. So the original price may be close to ours but once you get your entire family covered you end up costing you 2 to 3 times more than you would with our family based emergency roadside assistance services. Here is a comparison chart of our plans. Here is a comparison chart versus our competition.
Why do you only offer 3 service calls per year with your emergency roadside coverage?
Simple! 99% of our roadside assistance members whether they be an entire family or a single vehicle user do not need to use emergency roadside services more that 3 times per year on average. This keeps you from losing hundreds per year by paying for services you will simply never use.
Why do you only offer a $100 benefit per call with your roadside plans?
Again, 99% of our roadside assistance members never need the service outside of their own cities and towns. Most breakdowns occur within 15 miles of your home. So unlike AAA who only offers new members 3 miles of towing we offer to pay up to $100 per service call which will get you approximately 30 miles of towing. For our members who are away on a road trip 30 miles of towing will almost always get you to an honest and reliable repair facility.
How does your emergency roadside assistance service work?
First step is to purchase one of our 3 roadside assistance plans. We have set up a roadside assistance comparison chart to help you. There is a 7 day waiting period. This means if you buy our plan on Monday it will go into effect the following Monday. If a member and their vehicle get stranded they simply call our toll-free number and speak to one of our dispatch operators. They will make sure you are safe and then they will dispatch one of over 50,000 emergency service vehicles in our network to you. Once the service vehicle arrives your vehicle will then be serviced or towed if necessary. That's it!
Each call gets you an emergency automobile service at a pre negotiated in network service rate which is cheaper than calling a towing company yourself. Because we have so many members that need services everyday across the US and Canada we get to negotiate discounts on behalf of our members so that your $100 benefit goes a lot further than it would on your own.
What happens if I use all 3 roadside services before one year is up?
You have 2 options! Option 1: Wait until your roadside assistance plan auto renews on the same date you originally signed up. Option 2: Pay for a new plan that will give you an entire year from the sign up date plus 3 more services. Since this doesn't happen often it shouldn't be a big deal especially since our service plans cost roughly half of what our closest competitors charge.
What happens if my roadside services cost more than $100 in a single use?
In the highly unlikely event that a single service costs you more than the $100 benefit we provide, you simply need to make an arrangement to pay the emergency service vehicle driver for the difference between the actual cost less the $100 benefit you get from us. Fortunately your roadside assistance towing rates are set at a pre negotiated special rate because of your membership. This means even if your tow costs more than the benefit we provide. You will be charged at our discounted rate.
Do you reimburse me if I call an emergency road service other than eCarCare?
NO, we do not. The reason our service costs so little is because we are not a reimbursement service. We have our own dispatch facility and contracts with over 40,000 service providers across the US and Canada to get you the fastest, safest and most reliable emergency roadside services available. The only instance that we reimburse you is if you call our dispatch center and we have no service provider in the area where you and your vehicle are stranded. Becoming the best roadside assistance provider starts with a great network of professional competent service providers.
